Location:
Millbrook

On Wednesday, July 15 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. join environmental educator Kali Bird for a family-friendly walk on the grounds of the Cary Institute. As part of NY Invasive Species Awareness Week, Bird will discuss the origins and ecological impacts of common plant and animal invaders.

Are you struggling with garlic mustard, oriental bittersweet, or Japanese barberry?
Learn environmentally-sensitive management techniques. Bird will also discuss recently enacted New York State regulations prohibiting the sale or release of invasive species. Children (and adults) can join in a game exploring why certain species become so invasive.

The walk will begin at Cary East (Carriage House), located at 2917 SharonTurnpike (Rte. 44) in Millbrook, New York. Register at http://www.caryinstitute.org/events/invaders-around-us. For more information, call (845) 677-7600 x 121 or email freemanp@ caryinstitute.org.
