Giant Hogweed Training Putnam Co.
We would like to invite you to attend training on the invasive plant Giant Hogweed to be given by Naja Kraus, the Giant Hogweed Program Coordinator for NYSDEC Division of Lands and Forests.
Giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) is a Federally listed noxious weed. Its sap, in combination with moisture and sunlight, can cause severe skin and eye irritation, painful blistering, permanent scarring and blindness. Giant hogweed grows along streams and rivers and in fields, forests, yards and roadsides. Populations have been found and are being controlled in Putnam County as well as in many other locations across the state of New York.

The training is Free and open to all who wish to attend. We will start promptly at 10:00.
