The Lower Hudson and Long Island regions has experienced hemlock woolly adelgid infestations for nearly forty years, yet there are ways that this invasive forest pest can be dealt with to keep trees healthy. In this webinar, we'll cover the importance of hemlock trees in the Lower Hudson and Long Island regions, the threat and damage that HWA causes to the local hemlocks, and management solutions current and future. The Lower Hudson region in particular has consistently been the site of biocontrol insect release, so we'll be talking about NYS Hemlock Initiative biocontrol research efforts and how you can get involved. Join us for our Forest Friday lunch event!
