Translational invasion ecology (TIE) is a new term for a well-recognized approach for managers and scientists to work together to solve pressing problems about invasive species. Because the combined topics of invasive species and climate change represent a critical emerging challenge, the Northeast Regional Invasive Species & Climate Change (RISCC) Management Network addresses the question “How can we manage for upcoming biological invasions in the light of climate change?” RISCC implements TIE by identifying stakeholder needs, synthesizing existing research, developing new research and tools, and supporting increased collaboration among scientists and managers.
This webinar will demonstrate what we have learned in collaborating across disciplines and agencies over the last four years, synthesize management and research needs regarding invasive species and climate change, and highlight new tools to identify and prioritize emerging invasive plants.
