Does your yard have dimly lit areas where nothing grows? Well many native shade plants and spring ephemerals can not only survive deep shade but thrive there. These plants have several ecological adaptations which allow them to grow and colonize this extreme habitat. We will discuss which easy to grow plants to select for your shade garden and where to get them. We will also discuss how to tame these plants and fill up your bare spots with color and interest! The webinar is being presented by Dr. Hubert Ling. Hubert is presently the president of the NPSNJ and has been a member and served on the board from its inception. He has been active for years as the horticulturist providing propagation information, writing articles, and propagating a backyard full of plants and seeds, and has freely donated to many organizations including the NPSNJ seed swap. Hubert currently writes for the Gardener News every month for the NPSNJ.
